Marilyn Silberstein has been a Realtor and a member of the Neil Kugelman Team since 2004. A resident of Northwest Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs since 1989, she chose to work at Elfant Wissahickon because of its community involvement and its reputation for ethical business practices.
After earning her masters degree in social work, she embarked on a 35-year career in medical social work. She worked in a dialysis center, then at several of the large teaching hospitals in Philadelphia, ending her social work career as the Director of Social Work for the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. Her transition into the field of real estate was a natural – she’s still working with people as they face a change in their lives. She is proud she can use her professional skills to assess what it is that people need and then work with them to achieve their goals.
Originally from the Boston area, Marilyn has made her home in Philly for the past 32 years. During her time here, she has bought and sold 6 houses(!) of her own. She’s been both a Buyer and a Seller in a variety of situations and understands the experience.
A single mother of 2 daughters and a foster daughter, she has lived in the Main Line, Overbrook, Mt. Airy, Germantown, and Elkins Park and knows the area well. Her children have attended both private and public schools. She has always volunteered her time to a variety of non-profit community organizations, including, most recently, Germantown Jewish Centre, Center in the Park, Dwight Evans’ annual housing conference, Mt. Airy USA, and Hosts for Hospitals.
She currently lives with her partner, Sy, and their 2 beagles and a cockatiel in Cheltenham Township. Her daughter, Heidi, is married and the mother of 2 in Australia. Meg is married and the mother of 2, and lives in Marlton, NJ. Marilyn’s daughter, Adina, lives in E. Mt. Airy and is the owner of the popular Queenie’s Pets, a petsitting service.
