Marilyn Silberstein has been a Realtor and a member of the Neil Kugelman Team since 2004.  A resident of Northwest Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs since 1989, she chose to work at Elfant Wissahickon because of its community involvement and its reputation for ethical business practices.

After earning her masters degree in social work, she embarked on a 35-year career in medical social work.  She worked in a dialysis center, then at several of the large teaching hospitals in Philadelphia, ending her social work career as the Director of Social Work for the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network.  Her transition into the field of real estate was a natural – she’s still working with people as they face a change in their lives.  She is proud she can use her professional skills to assess what it is that people need and then work with them to achieve their goals.

Originally from the Boston area, Marilyn has made her home in Philly for the past 32 years.  During her time here, she has bought and sold 6 houses(!) of her own.  She’s been both a Buyer and a Seller in a variety of situations and understands the experience.

A single mother of 2 daughters and a foster daughter, she has lived in the Main Line, Overbrook, Mt. Airy, Germantown, and Elkins Park and knows the area well. Her children have attended both private and public schools.  She has always volunteered her time to a variety of non-profit community organizations, including, most recently, Germantown Jewish Centre, Center in the Park, Dwight Evans’ annual housing conference, Mt. Airy USA, and Hosts for Hospitals.

She currently lives with her partner, Sy, and their 2 beagles and a cockatiel in Cheltenham Township.  Her daughter, Heidi, is married and the mother of 2 in Australia.  Meg is married and the mother of 2, and lives in Marlton, NJ.  Marilyn’s daughter, Adina, lives in E. Mt. Airy and is the owner of the popular Queenie’s Pets, a petsitting service.

Before entering the world of real estate, Chris spent 32 years as a resident of Philadelphia, six of which as an active resident of the Germantown/Mount Airy community. Professionally, Chris spent ten years as a middle school English teacher.
As a teacher, Chris came to recognize that each student was unique and needed individualized care, attention, and someone they could trust in order for them to find success. This understanding of how best to serve others has carried with him into real estate.
Since moving to Mt. Airy in 2004 and then Germantown in 2008, Chris has become an active member of the local community. He is a member of Weaver’s Way Coop and The Blue Bell Hill Civic Association. He is also the current board chair at the Cooperative Nursery School at the Unitarian Church of Germantown.  Chris spent three years teaching at Project Learn School and helped his wife open The Nesting House at the corners of Carpenter and Greene Streets. It is through this involvement that Chris has come to understand the area so well.
With the help of his father, Chris significantly renovated a Mount Airy row home and the Germantown single that he currently calls home. This experience helped him to better understand both what a house really is, inside and out, and what it can become with a little bit of hard work and imagination.
Through these experiences, he developed a love of serving others, a love of houses and of the city of Philadelphia itself. It made perfect sense to become a realtor in Philadelphia and help others find their place within this remarkable area.
Chris is a member of the Kugelman Team, allowing him to combine his relevant life experiences with a veteran group of realtors. He lives in the Blue Bell Hill section of Germantown with his wife, Jen, his three children, Shea, Sam, and baby Norah.
